June 14th through June 20th, 2021
Griffis Business Park, 91 Perimeter Road, Rome, NY 13441
Rome lost 12 residents in the Vietnam War, and many more area resident fought on the battlefields of Southeast Asia. We do not recognize, thank or honor our heroes as often or meaningfully as they deserve. Created to place a Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the grounds of Rome’s former military installation, Griffis Air Force Base, the New York State Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund has expanded efforts to honor all those who by their actions have become our heroes. Members of the Armed Forces, Veterans, Firefighters, Police and Emergency Medical Service providers protect and care for us in times of war and emergency, and Rome’s Healing Field® Flag display honors all who by their actions have become our heroes.
Rome’s Healing Field® display of United States Flags brings volunteers, residents and visitors together as 500 flags are posted at Griffis Business Park. This inspiring and memorable display panorama of red, white and blue is hard to describe, but once experienced it is not to be forgotten.
The Rome Healing Field® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag, making a donation or doing both.
Please visit the Rome Healing Field® display, which runs June 14th to the 20th and bring your family and friends to experience this magnificent display of the Stars & Stripes.
