Veterans Park, found in the heart of Huntersville, provides the site for the town’s 2nd Annual Field of Honor Display.

Hearing 3-year-old & 4-year-old children recite the Pledge of Allegiance, watching students march from the St. Ann’s Academy to One Steuben Square, watching students folding a larger U.S. flag, and hearing essays read themed to honor some of our nation’s heroes

Students at the Notre Dame Catholic School gain an appreciation of our nation and the men and women who have maintained the freedoms we enjoy. 

The Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce joins together with the Asheboro Rotary Club each year at Veterans Day to host the Field of Honor® display as a way to bring together the residents of the Randolph County and surrounding communities. 

Exchange Clubs understand the impact created through the display of our National Flag, and this year brings greater meaning to the Mooresville Field of Honor® display as the Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Clubs post hundreds of United States flags on the grassy field adjacent to Lowe’s YMCA on Joe Knox Avenue. The “Field of Flags” honors those who trough their lives have honored the flags that will fly in their tribute.

The impact of local Exchange Clubs spreads out like rings radiating from a stone dropped in a still pool of water. Nowhere is this more evident than in Raleigh. Individual Clubs in Raleigh join together as Wake County Clubs, which are part of two Exchange Divisions that all together form the North Carolina Exchange District—and all of these levels of activity find their center in Raleigh.

Those traveling along the West Dixie Drive this Veterans Day weekend will again be rewarded with an exceptional view of 500 United States flag flying atop 7½ foot white flagstaffs. Truckers who pass through Asheboro often sound their horns in salute to the scene. 

Members of the U.S. military stand daily formations at home and overseas in ceremonies honoring their units, their organizations and the nation.
