Earning strong community support on many levels of benefit, the Mansfield’s 7th Annual Field of Honor® flag display has grown into a cherished tradition in the Bristol County area.  Mansfield Town and Village share a history stretching back over three and a half centuries that has produced many accomplishments and traditions, and the seven years of Field of Honor® event are but the newest.

During the days surrounding Memorial Day, U.S. flags measuring 3’ by 5’ fly once more atop 7½ foot white flagstaffs in a solemn formation in tribute to those who by their actions and lives have honored the United States Flag.

Made possible by the efforts of hosts, volunteers and sponsors, this touching tribute to those honored and their families merits the united donated labor.  The impact on visitors to the display of flags is heartwarming.  Nevertheless, this is but a top layer of the event’s beneficial impact. Funds raised benefit those honored through donations to an array of veteran’s programs.  Gifts to a veterans’ home, support of veterans’ outings and grants to local military recruit upon their completion  of initial training are but a few of the areas of assistance given.

While there is no charge to visit this stirring and memorable display, area residents may support the Field of Honor® by sponsoring flags in tribute to individuals who have served our nation in the defense of freedom.

We invite all to join us in walking among the ordered rows of flags, which remind us of the service and sacrifices offered by our military and veterans. This is an event that must be seen to be fully appreciated. Don’t miss it.
