In what has become a cherished tradition, the Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport hosts the Annual Field of Honor¨ display of Old Glory honoring the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks as well as the men and women who have answered the call to defend the peace and security of our nation and the world. We also honor personal heroes.

Members of the local Exchange Club are making preparations for the annual Field of Honor presentation at the Bartlet Mall. The event serves as an opportunity for the community to honor and memorialize all veterans, military participants, first responders and personal heroes, as well as those lost in the 9/11 attacks 16 years ago, organizers say.

The Exchange Club of Greater Newburyport will present its 8th annual “Field of Honor” ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 10, at noon on the Bartlet Mall. A field of full-sized American flags will honor those who serve, whether military, fire, police, EMT or personal hero. All are welcome, whether purchasing a flag ($40) for dedication or as an observer.
