Rotary Hill located along the Riverwalk in Downtown Naperville
For American Doughboys who fought in the muddy trenches of the “War to End All Wars,” the Great War could not end fast enough. Fought with weapons of the 20th Century but with military tactics of the 19th Century, the war spread death and misery to earn the name World War I. The guns of the Great War fell silent on the November 11th of 1918, and war-weary veterans of that war created the American Legion in 1919. Chartered by Congress the Legion in the same year and the organization has served veterans and the nation during the hundred years that have followed.
The Naperville Healing Field of Honor® Committee joins with Naperville Park District to bring this inspirational display of the Stars and Stripes again to Rotary Hill. People will have the opportunity to purchase a flag, dedicate a flag to a veteran and/or become a sponsor, and proceeds will benefit Operation Support Our Troops-America, an organization whose name says it all.
Remembering a Century of Heroes and Heritage, the Naperville Field of Honor® display will post 2019 United States Flags on Rotary Hill in tribute to the American Legion and the veterans that make up their ranks, as the Legion serves all the men and women who have defended our nation.
The Naperville Field of Honor® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation.

“Walk On!”
The Naperville Park District is hosting a new walk, “Walk On!,” in memory of late park manager Chuck Papanos and to support lymphoma research.
Papanos died last summer from T-cell lymphoma. He served the park district for 20 years as the Parks North/Riverwalk Manager. He managed Naperville’s Riverwalk and many community parks including Centennial Beach and Nike Sports Complex. He was also “the quiet hero” behind city events like the Riverwalk Art Fair and Healing Field of Honor at Rotary Hill,” according to a press release.
Present an inspiring display for your community. Promote awareness for your group or issue. Raise funds for your cause or charity.
