“One Thousand Flags Over Mesquite” will fly proudly for the 18th time creating a stunning panorama that has become a Clark County cherished event each November. Timed to coincide with Veterans Day, this event reflects the hard work and dedication of Mesquite’s Exchange Club. Club members and volunteers will respect the Stars & Stripes through their service to the community, while making it possible for flag sponsors to pay tribute to those who have honored the flag through their lives of service and sacrifice.

Each flag respects an individual and tells one of the many stories that combined give Old Glory its meaning.  Walking amid the posted flags, visitors to Mesquite’s Field of Honor® formation of flags experience emotions that are difficult to explain but not to be forgotten.

The Mesquite Field of Honor® is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or by making a donation.

Another year, another 1000 flags of honor
Mesquite Local News
For 13 years, 1000 flags have flown in honor of those living who have served our country and sadly for those no longer with us. Dedicated to every veteran who gave their all; some losing their lives fighting for their country, some gone long after their service ended but none
The Exchange Club’s President, Susan Jenkins,(L) presented Eureka’s Gerrie Chasko (Center) with a plaque honoring her involvement in the community, her dedication to the military, disabled veteran’s and Mesquite’s nonprofit organizations, making Mesquite a better place to live through her participation and leadership in the Eureka Community Initiative. Bagpipe player, Dennis Hangey (R) escorted Chasko to the podium to receive the honor. Chasko and the Eureka were one of the first supporters and through the years have continued to be the largest supporter of the event sponsored by the Mesquite Exchange Club. Photo by Teri Nehrenz forgotten to those of us who live on in freedom because of their sacrifice.
