April 17th – April 20th
Pearson Park 4 Complex
Intersection of Highway 52 & Highway 85, Fort Lupton, CO 80621
The Great Plains Field of Honor® honors Veterans, and first responders- Public Safety, Fire & EMS (and all emergency workers)– who have earned our gratitude in the present day and in the past.
It is appropriate to honor our heroes with the display of the flag that they honored through their service and sacrifice. Fort Lupton’s Field of Honor® display of U.S. Flags brings the community and visitors together as 1,000 United State flags are posted at Pearson Park along the South Platte River.
The Fort Lupton Field of Honor® display is a gift to the area made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag, making a donation or doing both. 100% of your donations benefit a community-selected, Colorado-based charity working with Veterans and First Responders.
For 2024, our beneficiary partners are Buffalo Soldiers of the American West and the Honor Bell Foundation. The Buffalo Soldiers of the American West is a long standing 501-c-3, made up of dedicated volunteers, Veterans, and retired educators. They are the foremost educational entity in Colorado ensuring that the story and sacrifice of the Ninth and Tenth United States Cavalry, is not forgotten. This year, we will also expand our event with the inaugural motorcycle ride hosted by Yoder Chevrolet and the Buffalo Soldiers MC Mile High Chapter.
The field is open daily April 17 – 20, with a formal closing ceremony on April 20 at 1pm. Please join us for this moving event featuring our keynote speaker John W. Bell with the Buffalo Soldiers of the American West, presentation of the colours by the Fort Lupton Fire Department, Piper Charlene Michel with Colorado Harmony, and a flyover by the Rocky Mountain Renegades (weather permitting).
When you support the Great Plains Field of Honor, you are directly supporting our Veterans and First Responders. You are telling the world that they are seen, valued and remembered. Thank you.
