The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 118 proudly present Cohasset’s 18th Annual Field of Honor ®
Please purchase a sponsorship or an individual flag to honor Veterans who selflessly defended our American values and freedoms. All proceeds will go to support our local vets and the community at large. If you choose, each flagpole will be labeled with the name, rank, branch of service of a veteran or loved one. Feel free to Include a special sentiment if you wish. After the Dedication of the Field of Honor on the 25th, the flag and pole is yours to take home.
“We identify the flag with almost everything we hold dear on earth, peace, security, liberty, our family, our friends, our home… But when we look at our flag and behold it emblazoned with all our rights we must remember that it is equally a symbol of our duties. Every glory that we associate with it is the result of duty done.”
A Message from the Commander:
The Sons are proud to present the 18th annual Healing Field in concert with the solemn remembrance of Memorial Day.
Our Honor Guard and Color Guard continue to proudly pay homage to our Veterans at ceremonies and funerals throughout the community. We raise money to help fund our causes and scholarships by raffling hams, roasts and turkeys, and selling the best lobster rolls on the south shore. The Field of Honor is our major fundraiser of the year.
A heartfelt thank you for the support of Phil Mahoney, the Veterans Service Officer, the selectmen’s office and the town manager. The generosity of local merchants, individual sponsors and the efforts of a dedicated team of volunteers ensures that the annual Field of Honor display and Memorial Day observance will continue to be a special and moving tribute. Thank you!
May God bless America and all those who served and made it home, and especially for those young men and women from Cohasset and towns across America who did not!
