May 28th-30th, 2022
98 Summer Street – Traffic Island, Cohasset, MA 02025
The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 118, Cohasset, Ma, will once again proudly pay our respects to all veterans who have honorably served our country. The flags waving in the salty sea breeze off Cohasset harbor present a stirring tribute to the men and women who selflessly defended our American values and freedoms. Please honor their memory by purchasing a sponsorship or an individual flag. Each flagpole will be inscribed with the name of a loved one or special sentiment of your choice. The flag is yours to take home.
“We identify the flag with almost everything we hold dear on earth, peace, security, liberty, our family, our friends, our home… But when we look at our flag and behold it emblazoned with all our rights we must remember that it is equally a symbol of our duties. Every glory that we associate with it is the result of duty done.”
A Message from the Commander of the Sons, Squadron 118, Cohasset, Ma:
The Sons are proud to present the 16th annual Healing Field in concert with the solemn remembrance of Memorial Day.
The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 118’s Honor Guard and Color Guard continue to proudly pay homage to our Veterans at ceremonies and funerals throughout the community. We also raise money to help fund our causes and scholarships by raffling hams, roasts and turkeys, and selling the best lobster rolls on the south shore.
We’re fortunate to have the support of veteran’s services, the selectmen’s office and the town manager. Without the united effort of merchants, individual sponsors and a dedicated team of volunteers, the annual observance would not be able to grow bigger and better with each succeeding year. Thank you! It takes a town!
If you haven’t attended the Healing Field Dedication Ceremony happening Saturday, May 28th, 2022, at 1pm, it is small town America at its best. Please join us for a moving and heartfelt tribute to our Veterans past and present.
May God bless America and all those who served and came home, and especially for those young men from Cohasset and small towns across America who did not!
