November 7th – 14th 2020
204 SE 14th Street, Bentonville, AR 72712 (Corner of SE 14th & SE C Street)
Bentonville’s Tourism Bureau describes the city succinctly, “There is a place that is unquestionably unique but also strangely familiar.” Bentonville retains the charm of a Southern U.S. town while serving as the worldwide headquarters for the planet’s largest retailer, Walmart, and the corporation’s founder is still spoken of locally as Mr. Sam. Downtown buildings radiate the charm of bygone days, and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art’s contemporary buildings and campus including galleries, trails and grounds which would be the pride of any city or metropolis. Many other attractions, again according to the Tourism Bureau, define “A town where modern progress meets rich history….”
The Rotary Club of Bentonville adds the community’s first Field of Honor® Flag Display to the city’s list of activities in a moving Veteran’s Day observance. Hundreds of U.S. flags will fly atop 7½ foot tall flagpoles creating a gorgeous scene of red, white & blue.
This event has special significance as it is not only Bentonville’s first Field of Honor® display, but it is the first one for the entire state of Arkansas. In over 18 years hundreds of these Colonial Flag Foundation Flag Displays have been hosted in 45 states and now Arkansas increases the state count to 46.
With Bentonville’s location in the northwest corner of the state, the display may also be easily visited by residents of Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. This presents a great opportunity for the city, the state and three surrounding states.
The Bentonville Field of Honor® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation.
This is an experience hard to describe, but never to be forgotten. We invite all to visit the Bentonville Field of Honor® display and walk with us among the posted flags. The display is open to all without charge. Don’t miss it!
