Celebrating Veterans Day in style, Seguin proudly embodies the spirit of “Real America” and “Real Texas.” This year, 300 United States flags are displayed atop 7½-foot white flagstaffs on Smokey Joe Williams Field, located at 637 Midway. This magnificent panorama showcases Seguin’s 5th Annual Field of Honor® . In conjunction with this event, the Traveling Vietnam Wall, presented by Doug Herrle DAV Chapter 61, will also be on display. This American Veterans Traveling Tribute (ATTV) Wall is an 80% scale replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, D.C. ATTV is a veteran-owned company based in Bullard, TX.
The display pays tribute to military personnel, veterans, and the fallen – individuals who have earned our gratitude through their selfless service and sacrifice. There’s no better time for this tribute than during the days surrounding Veteran’s Day. The flags honor those who have, through their lives, honored the flag, and this tribute provides deeper meaning to Veterans Day.
This inspiring and memorable display will bring together the residents of Guadalupe County. The vista of red, white, and blue is hard to describe, but once you experience it, it will be unforgettable. The Seguin Field of Honor® display is a community gift made possible through donations, sponsorships, and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by making a donation, dedicating a flag or becoming an event sponsor.
We invite everyone to join us as we remember and honor our nation’s heroes. The Field of Honor® is free to the public and can be visited from May 10 to May 15. This is an event you won’t want to miss.
