May 17 – 30, 2020
98 Summer Street – Traffic Island, Cohasset, MA 02025
It just wouldn’t be Memorial Day in Cohasset without the display of flags posted by the Sons of the American Legion on the grassy lawn between Summer Street and Border Street. With the George H. Mealy Post 188 building as a backdrop, this site presents a visual representation of veterans and military who give Memorial Day its meaning.
Celebrating Cohasset’s 250th Anniversary, residents have a long history of honoring the nation and those who defend and protect us. The annual Field of Honor® display of the Stars & Stripes adds to the towns yearlong calendar of events.
The Cohasset Field of Honor® display is a gift to the community made possible through donations, sponsorships and the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. You can show your support and gratitude by sponsoring a flag or making a donation. Flags sponsored may be dedicated to honor our heroes, and sponsors retain their flags at the conclusion of the event.
Bring family and friends to see this inspiring and memorable display of United States flags in front of the American Legion Lodge. It is an experience that is not to be missed.

By the end of Memorial Day weekend, Quincy resident Jake Comer will have made stops all over the state to pay respects at various ceremonies and memorials. A past national commander of the American Legion, Comer travels far and wide for celebrations and remembrances, but none, he said, are like Cohasset’s Healing Field.
